37. Pastilla in Fes
Pastilla, or b'stilla, is a traditional Moroccan dish which combines both sweet and savory flavors. A meat pie that is traditionally made with pigeon, today it’s often found with chicken or vegetable-based fillings. With sweet flaky dough on the outside and a hearty filling on the inside, pastilla is definitely worth trying while traveling through Morocco. For a vegetarian take on this dish combined with one of the best views in Fes, come to Café Clock. Located right across from Fes's famous clock tower and only minutes from the Bab Bou Jeloud, or Blue Gate, a trip to Fes wouldn't be complete without stopping here.
