The latest iOS release brings us a whole lot of new features. Rather than have one big press-releasy post, we’ll let our developers tell you about the feature that they are particularly proud of.
Today, it's Anton Bryl:
"For a while now I have been working on text-analysis of online reviews. It works really well to find out what dishes are good at which places, and we use it to tag restaurants and to make suggestions. In the new release we use the same mechanisms to find places with free wifi, with outdoor seating and more of such.
Personally though, I am more attached to another feature I've recently built: famous people as tags. That is, in our Oxford guide you can now easily find places that are associated with J.R.R. Tolkien, like The Eagle and Child. Same for Shakespeare in London and Stratford-upon-Avon, for Chekhov in Taganrog, etc. Behind this, some tricky automatic wikipedia analysis."
