London, United Kingdom Hotspots For People Watching Mini Guide by Jimmy Lacey

Watch the world go by with a beer or a coffee, let the people around you provide the entertainment. These spots are best for daytime people watching.

Climb up onto the base of Nelson's Column, facing down Whitehall, and let the drama unfold. A breathtaking view towards Parliament, with the chaos of commuters going to war on the streets before your eyes.

There's a Caffe Nero at the junction of Old Compton Street and Frith Street that is legendary as a people watching hotspot. Old Compton Street is in the heart of London's vibrant gay and theatre districts and you'll find plenty of larger than life characters, as well as some very well known faces, to look at. If the cafe is too busy, you can always stroll up the street to Soho Square and laze around on the grass instead.
