Climb up onto the base of Nelson's Column, facing down Whitehall, and let the drama unfold. A breathtaking view towards Parliament, with the chaos of commuters going to war on the streets before your eyes.
There's a Caffe Nero at the junction of Old Compton Street and Frith Street that is legendary as a people watching hotspot. Old Compton Street is in the heart of London's vibrant gay and theatre districts and you'll find plenty of larger than life characters, as well as some very well known faces, to look at. If the cafe is too busy, you can always stroll up the street to Soho Square and laze around on the grass instead.
Get a table outside and you'll sit open mouthed as the world of the mega-rich circulates around you. Gold Ferraris or Aquamarine Lambourghinis, an endless stream of women with "redesigned" faces and lips, famous faces from around the world alongside Saudi princes, Russian Oligarchs...and lots of Filipino nannies doing the school run.
Right beside the gorgeous Primrose Hill (go up to the top and check out the view!) is this pub which often attracts well known faces from the worlds of music and fashion. Many of the UK's A-List rock stars live round Primrose Hill and this is the best pub in the area, but if they don't come in for a beer you might see someone walking past...
